Who are we?

We are what we are because of this society, each one of us is indebted to the society for the same. A bunch of students doing their Under Graduation wanted to contribute to the welfare of the society, Vidial owes its birth to those thoughts.

Those bunch of students were filled with enthusiasm but didn't know what to do. When they were searching for new ideas, they happened to get in touch with Shanthi Ashram and Mr.Parthiban who provided answers to some of them but ignited a fire in our heart to pursue a much bigger objective.

Though the group was participating in lot of activities carried out by Shanthi Ashram, there was an urge inside them to do something substantial on their own. After some time they realized that - Educating people is one of the best ways to eradicate poverty and decided to work towards improving the education standard of students. In 2004, after screening about 10 children, Nivithya, studying 7th standard then, was chosen for scholarship, owing to her family's poor situation. A bunch of students paid her educational fees also proving constant guidance in her studies by tutoring her. It was during this time the group christened itself as 'Vidial'.

During the June of 2004, Vidial organized tuitions for children at a home for destitute children. Due to operational difficulties, Vidial had to leave that home and started taking care of Aravanaikum Anbu Illam from July 2005 and our College Chapter conitnues with this venture till now.

Vidial faced it's first big challenge when it wanted to help Kanchana pursue her Engineering degree. Where would a group of final years in college go for the money required to educate an engineering student for three years? We looked up to our college alumnus and they responded heartily. That response made us realize that there are lot of people out there to help.

That's when Vidial realized that scholarships can be given to the needy on a larger scale, provided we develop an efficient operations team.Vidial has helped almost fifty students so far. Apart from this we have been doing several other activities  in the education domain. Education is the best route to empowerment and this is the driving thought that fuels 'Vidial' now.
